Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Patients

Do you identify as aboriginal, of aboriginal decent, or a Torres Strait Islander? If so, please make an appointment with a member of our nursing staff for a comprehensive health assessment to ensure that your medical needs are being managed.

ATSI patients are entitled under the “Closing the Gap” initiative to access their medication for free (if you are on a pension or health care card) and if you are not on a pension or health care card then you are able to access your medication for the concession price.

Please discuss the “Closing the Gap” with your doctor or one of the nursing staff.

 
Health Assessments

4 Year old health assessments – Please make an appointment with one of our nursing staff for your child’s 4 year old health assessment.

75 plus Health Assessment – If you are aged 75 or older, then you may be eligible for a comprehensive health assessment to ensure all your medicals needs are being met.  A member of the nursing staff will complete the health assessment and your regular general practitioner will review and discuss with you your results.

45-49 Health Assessment - If you are aged between 45-49 years, make an appointment with one of the caring nursing staff for a health assessment.  Once completed, your regular general practitioner will discuss with you your results.

Diabetes Risk Assessment – When in the Clinic for your next consultation, why not complete a “Diabetes Risk Assessment Tool”.

Childhood Vaccinations

Childhood vaccinations are available at all times at Wyndhamvale Health Care, please see your doctor for childhood vaccinations and for the implementation of a “catch up programme” if your child has missed prior immunisations.

Pre-Employment Medicals

If your require a Pre-Employment Medical, please discuss this with your doctor to ensure you are aware of the fees involved.  Medicare Australia will not cover pre-employment medicals.

Flu Vaccinations

Flu vaccinations are free for persons aged 65 or older, are free for Indigenous clients and free for patients who have chronic disease.
